The educational benefits of using console games at schools

A research developed by Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS) in partnership with Futurelab tries to identify the educational benefits of console game-based learning in primary and secondary schools in Scotland. The project was carried out in classrooms to test learning with consoles such as PlayStation, XBox and Wii.

Game-based learning approaches must be connected with children’s interests, skills and knowledge, and can help to reduce the gap between home and school cultures. Another key finding of this study points out that they offer an excellent opportunity to engage students in activities that enhance learning and generate interesting educational benefits.

The study can be found in the attached document.
